What to do if a tornado comes
So, whether you expect it or not, a tornado is going to leave a lot of damage to your property, and after the wind and the rain are gone, there are a few things you need to do to prevent more damage from happening.
1. Stay alert.
Find a way to stay on top of the situation.
One way to do this is to keep a radio close to you, keep the TVs on, and keep an internet connection.
Having that real-time information will help you know what’s going on in your area.
2. Start the inspection
What you want to do is take your phone’s camera and start taking pictures of the damage to your property. This is going to help you out with your insurance claims, even if a small issue you may see could lead to bigger problems later down the road.
3. Figure out if you need to follow the claim or not
If the cost to repair the damage that you have found is well above your deductible on your home insurance, then that’s the point at which you’re going to want to file a claim through your insurance.
So if you’ve gone through a tornado situation, make sure to remember some of these things during that situation.
